Jodi Remsen, DPT of Bristow, Va. and Corinne Shumaker, DPT of Haymarket, Va. recently joined Advantage Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, LLC of Gainesville, Va. Both have earned their doctorate degrees in physical therapy, with Remsen specializing in musculoskeletal dysfunction and Shumaker with special interest in the spine. Jodi Remsen, DPT earned her doctorate degree from Marymount University in Virginia and earned her master degree in physical therapy from New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. Remsen specializes in musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain using dynamic approaches to achieve rehabilitation, focusing on patient education and preventative care. She has taken multiple courses from the Institute of Physical Art and is certified through the American Physical Therapy Association as a clinical instructor. When Remsen is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Corinne Shumaker, DPT received her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Va. She worked with the Virginia Spine Institute and Inova Fairfax Trauma and Cardiovascular Units. Traveling to Nicaragua in May 2010 on a medical mission’s trip with Shenandoah University, she served as one of six physical therapists within a group of 59 medical professionals, treating more than 1200 patients. Shumaker also earned a minor in theatre and has danced for 18 years, with a focus in ballet and Pointe. She has also choreographed musical theater for six years.
