Jennie Dean Elementary PTA, Dean Principal Dr. Robin A. Toogood II and the 4H Green Club recently hosted a Lemonade Reception to celebrate the school’s new garden area. 

Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation awarded a $5,000 Toolbox for Education grant to Jennie Dean Elementary School in the City of Manassas to improve the area so teachers can use it as an outdoor classroom during the school day.  Each grade level will have their own bed for gardening projects of their choice. 

Jennie Dean is one of more than 480 schools or parent organizations to be awarded a Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for parent-initiated school improvement projects benefiting K-12 public education across the United States during the 2010-2011 school year.
