An attempted home burglary in Gainesville was caught on video by the homeowner, who turned the footage over to police, Prince William County Police said.

It happened on Monday at 2:05 p.m. on the 6900 block of Stanwick Square when the homeowner saw a man he didn't know removing the screen off a rear window.

The homeowner confronted the suspect, who ran away without entering the home, but not before the homeowner recorded the incident using his phone, Prince William County Police said.

Probably won't catch him if the canine didn't track him, but he'll probably try it again and get caught that way...
