Internet Meeting Ends in Robbery, Assault

Manassas City Police are investigating after a man who went to meet two women he met on the Internet at a local gas station was assaulted and robbed.

It happened in the early morning hours of Friday, Feb. 3, police said.

According to police, the victim said he was at the Shell Gas station located on Hasting Road to meet the women when they entered his car and told him to drive to an nearby neighborhood. When the trio arrived at a culd-de-sac, a male appeared and assaulted and robbed the victim.

The victim arrived at Prince William Hospital where he was interviewed by police.

The victim described one female as white, wearing a grey sweatshirt with blue jeans. He said that she had tattoos on her chest. The second female was also described as white and wearing a pink or red top with blue jeans.

The victim could not supply officers with the male’s description.

The victim sustained an injury to his head, stemming from this incident, police said.

This investigation is ongoing.

Manassas-area Sex Assault Suspect Arrested

Police in Prince William County have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman as she walked in the 8000 block of Sudley Rd in the Manassas-area on the evening of Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Javon Rustin Paige, 24, of Claremont St. in Manassas, was arrested and charged with attempted rape, sexual battery and solicitation following the incident last week, police said.

The victim, a 19 year old of Manassas, told police that she was walking in the area above when she was approached from behind by an unknown man who sexually assaulted her. According to police, the assault led to a physical altercation between the victim and the suspect. The victim sustained minor injuries, police said.

Paige was able to flee the scene on foot, but a day later was identified by authorities and arrested. He is being held without bond; his court date was not made available.
