Police: Fight Leads to Arrest
A man was arrested Monday after a fight with a known acquaintance escalated.
Police in Prince William County have arrested a man accused of attacking another man sending him to a nearby hosptial with non-life threatening injuries
The incident happened on Monday shortly before 6 p.m. in a neighborhood located in the 10800 block of Gambril Drive off of Sudley Manor Drive in the Manassas area of Prince William County.
The victim, identified by police as a 25-year-old man of Manassas, told police that he was involved in a verbal altercation with a known aquaitance which escalated.
According to police, Frederick Michael Handy, 28, of no known address, attacked the victim, striking him numerous times in the head and face before fleeing to a nearby building. The victim contacted police and Handy was located by police and arrested a short time later.
The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Handy, who is being held without bond, was charged with malicious wounding His court date was set for October 4, 2012.
