MCPS Email Down Since Monday
Some Manassas City Public Schools departments, schools have been without email since Monday.
The month of August is a busy time for schools, so a large email outage affecting Manassas City Public Schools (MCPS) could not have come at a worst time.
Email for MCPS departments, including school board, central office, support sevices and transportation has been down since Monday, according to MCPS Public Information Specialist Al Radford. Haydon and Jennie Dean elementary schoosl, as well as Mayfield Intermediate School have been affected by the outage as well.
"MCPS experienced a catastrophic failure to one of our email servers, Radford said in the release "Our staff has been working diligently to restore one of two email servers."
Each server supports approximately 500 personnel, she said.
Those needing to reach division personnel, should contact the MCPS administrative office at 571-377-6000.
"MCPS will post the information on the division and school websites and issue an Alert Now call to division staff and families once service is fully restored," Radford said.
