One person is dead and another in jail after a shooting overnight in Manassas.
The fatal shooting happened in the 7200 block of Kings Arm Drive in Manassas shortly after midnight, according to Prince William County Police.
The shooter, 53-year-old David Wayne Laws, of 7243 King Arms Drive in Manassas called police after the shooting and was taken into custody without incident. He is being held without bond, police said.
The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Walter John Sulzbach, of the same address.
According to police, Sulzbach and an unidentified female acquaintance arrived to the residence on King Arms Drive, where both the victim and accused resided. An argument ensued and Laws fatally shot Sulzback. Police said Laws also tried to shoot the woman, but missed.
The 50-year-old Manassas woman was found inside the home unharmed, police said.
Laws is charged with murder, attempted aggravated malicious wounding, 2 counts of the use of a firearm in commission of a felony and 2 counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling, according to police. His court date is set for February 23.
