Police Blotter: Burglars Entered Two Homes Through Unsecured Windows
Prince William County police responded Wednesday to reports of burglaries at the 10900 block of Coverstone Dr. and the 10800 block of Daisy Ct.
Two apparently unrelated burglaries, with a similar method of operation, occurred in Manassas on Wednesday.
A homeowner on the 10900 block of Coverstone Dr. reported to police that a burglar stole cash from his residence between 6:45 a.m. and 3:10 p.m. Police did not find any signs of forced entry.
Another homeowner on the 10800 block of Daisy Ct. called police at 11:43 a.m. The homeowner told police that around 10:30 a.m., he was in his bedroom when a strange man opened the door. After he was caught, the man left the home, but not before taking electronics and two gaming consoles worth $900, according to police reports. Police did not find any signs of forced entry.
Police believe that in both cases, the burglar entered the home through an unsecured window.
Officer Jonathan Perok of the Prince William County Police Department said that he was not aware of any connection between the two incidents.
