Police: Car Strikes 12-Year-Old Boy

No charges will be filed against the driver, police said.

A young boy was transported to a local hospital after being struck by a car Wednesday morning in Manassas.

Manassas City Police Sergeant Eddie Rivera said it happened around 7:30 a.m. at Main Street and Sandalwood Drive. Rivera said the boy is 12 years old, and InsideNova.com reported he was walking to school when he was struck.

The child's condition is unknown at this time, but Rivera said his injuries are non-life threatening.

No charges were placed on the female driver, according to Rivera. The boy was not in a crosswalk, and ran out in the street.

Hi Jamie, I was just having this conversation with neighbors at a function last evening. In addition to this incident a 13 to 14-year- old-boy was hit by a car along Prescott Avenue Thursday and a 16-year-old boy on a unicycle was also struck on Friday in Old Town Manassas, InsideNova reported. A resident in Wellington told me yesterday a teenage boy on a bike was struck on Bens Way in that area of the city.
