Police in Manassas are investigating after a man was found dead in the 9900 block of Mallow Street from an apparent gun shot wound. 

Police are calling the incident an "unattended death," meaning no one was around to witness what happened.

According to Sgt. Eddie Rivera with the Manassas City Police Department, a preliminary investigation shows cause of death to be from a gunshot wound.

This is an ongoing investigation, he said.
