Poll: What Should Simply Sweet on Main's New Name Be?
Old Town coffee shop seeks new name and owner wants your help to pick from six finalists.
Matt Brower, owner of Simply Sweet on Main, searched for a new name for his coffee-centric store by letting his customers have a say.
Brower said Monday he received over 400 suggestions for a new name from customers in less than two months and he and his wife, who is expecting their first child, a daughter, any day now has narrowed it down to just six.
"I narrowed it down to 25," Brower said. "And then my wife narrowed it down to six."
And they are: Magic Beans, Town and Bean, Slightly Off Center, LOA Bean, Grounds Central Station and Java Infusion.
Brower said he liked the idea of polling Manassas Patch readers to help him pick the winning name, which he says will best describe the store's new emphasis and excitement over coffee.
Brower told Patch in a previous interview that the popular Old Town coffee shop, which has been open for over two years now, gets a lot of new customers who think the store is a bakery or candy shop.
The shop, which is extending its coffee line, recently added a "Main St. Favorites" coffee menu to their traditional coffee drinks menu, and Brower said they will be creating even more specialty coffee drinks in the near future.
"We are looking for a name with a coffee theme and are giving out a $75 gift card to the person whose suggested name is used," Brower said.
The store will continue to serve food including breakfast items, hot and cold lunch sandwiches, smoothies, ice cream and other desserts.
