School Bus Driver Charged After Collision

Veronica Ofelia Espinosa, of Fredericksburg, is charged with reckless driving after the crash near Sudley Manor Drive and Bethlehem Road.

A Prince William County Schools bus driver was charged with reckless driving following a crash on Tuesday that sent her and nine students to the hospital with minor injuries. 

Veronica Ofelia Espinosa, 37, of Fredericksburg, was released on a summons following the incident that occurred shortly after 2 p.m.

"The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2007 Thomas school bus was traveling northbound on Bethlehem Road approaching Sudley Manor Dr. The driver disregarded a stop at the intersection above and made a right turn onto Sudley Manor Dr in the path of a 1999 GMC truck," Officer Jonathan Perok, a spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department, said in a press release.

Prince William County Schools said Tuesday that injuries were mostly limited to bumps and bruises.
