St. Patrick's Day in Manassas

Find out where to get plenty of Green Beer, Live Music & Irish Food Fare Around Town

Some people are still recovering from the St.Patrick's Day related festivities that took place in Manassas this past weekend.

The Manassas St.Patrick's Day Parade was held on Saturday and the majority of Manassas area restaurants took advantage of the event to offer up specials of their own.

Local eateries and pubs paid tribute to the Irish "holiday" by bringing in bagpipers, green beer, even a moon-bounce!

While the moon-bounce has been put away there is still plenty of stuff going on around town, let's take a look:

  • Glory Days Grill - Specials include Shepherd's Pie, corned beef and cabbage plus green beer on tap.
  • City Square Cafe - Chef Robert Barolin is preparing homemade corned beef and cabbage with parsley potatoes for $16.99. This small corner cafe has a more toned-down atmosphere and would be a good choice if you wanted to stay away from live music and noise.
  • Philadelphia Tavern - Serving up breakfast 8am-10am, breakfast menu is limited to only breakfast sandwiches. Beginning at 10am the tavern will be serving Guinness stew, Shepherd's Pie and corned beef and cabbage.
  • Okra's - Bluegrass Folk Musician and Manassas-native Zac Quintana will performing live at 8pm.
  • City Tavern Grill - Food specials include potato soup, Irish beef stew, and corned beef and cabbage. Plenty of green beer and a live DJ spinning tunes starting at 9:30pm. Must be at least 21 years old to enter with proper ID. Doors close at 2am. This will definitely be for the noisy crowd.
  • Old Towne Sports Pub - The Pub is starting their St.Patrick's Day celebrations earlier than any other establishment in town with Kegs and Eggs at 7 a.m. The menu includes: eggs any style, omelets, waffles, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, plus more! Stop in before work and grab a bite to eat. If you are around for lunch enjoy Guinness stew, Shepherd's Pie, and the pub's special Smoked corned beef and cabbage.  "It's just awesome, I've eaten Corned Beef plenty of times before, but never had it smoked, I can't get enough of it. Great portions as well, highly recommended," said John Fee, a resident of Fairfax who drove all the way out to Manassas just for the tasty treat. As if that wasn't enough to get you inside, Juan the bartender will be the kicker. Juan and his barely 5-foot-tall leprechaun-esque frame will be rocking a real leprechaun outfit complete with mascot-style giant head and serving up adult beverage specials. Bagpipers will also be in and out of the pub throughout the day as well performing traditional Irish tunes. Also make sure and get your Old Towne Sports Pub St. Patrick's Day t-shirt available at the bar.
