Bristow Manhunt Ends With Surrender to Prince William County Police
The Reston man was seen brandishing a firearm inside a Bristow home Monday, according to Prince William County Police
A man who prompted a police search in Bristow Monday is now in custody, Prince William County police reports show.
Javon Jerome Gross, 22, of 11655 Charter Oak Court in Reston is charged with attempted malicious wounding on a law enforcement officer and driving on a revoked license, according to a PWC Police press release.
It happened just before 11 p.m. on Monday when police responded to the 12200 block of Tulane Falls Drive in Bristow, where someone was reportedly brandishing a firearm.
The suspect was spotted in his vehicle leaving the residence, then speeding toward officers without his car headlights on, police said.
The officers had to move out of the way quickly to avoid being hit by the suspect's car, police said.
They followed the fleeing car to a dead end on Emory Falls Court where the driver bailed on foot.
Officers, a police dog and a Fairfax County Police helicopter searched for the suspect, but were unable to find him Monday night.
Two people who were in the car with the suspect were arrested and charged with providing police with false information.
Gross turned himself into police on Wednesday. Bond and court date information isn't immediately available.
