Tailgating Returns to Jiffy Lube Live

Jiffy Lube Live is implementing a new tailgating program for 2012.

Jiffy Lube Live is bringing tailgating back for the new year, according to a press released issued Thursday morning.

The new tailgating program for 2012 will be more "fan-friendly" by providing parking lot ambassadors who will patrol the lots to provide information and assistance to the guests during events.

They will also ensure that guests understand and comply with the established tailgating guidelines (see attached .pdf).

Tailgating is back at the local venue—including barbeque grills and tents— in time for the new year's concert series after it was banned last May in an effort to stem drunken driving, which, in the past few years, has taken four lives after the Bristow pavilion.

Jiffy Lube Live representatives said they decided to implement the new program after monitoring patrons' feedback.

"Jiffy Lube Live realizes tailgating is an important part of the concert experience for our fans.  They are committed to creating a safe and fan friendly environment for all of their guests to enjoy," the releases stated.

Tailgating is an important part of the concert experience and we are committed to creating a safe environment that is fan friendly for all of our guests to enjoy. For most fans, tailgating is a time for listening to music while enjoying the company of friends and family. Jiffy Lube Live will continue to work with the fans to preserve a new fan-friendly tailgating program.

Jiffy Lube Live reps say they are confident the new program, which was developed with Prince William County Police and follows strictly Virginia's underage and open container drinking laws, will be a success as long as concert goers adhere to the new policies.

“We have many fans at Jiffy Lube Live that want nothing more than to be able to tailgate in a safe and friendly environment while in our parking lots,” said General Manager, Matt Rogers. “We are confident in our fans to do so responsibly, creating an enjoyable concert-experience for all.”
