Saturday Christmas Parade Will Close Roads in Nokesville
Drivers may want to steer clear of the area, Virginia Department of Transportation says.
The Nokesville Christmas Parade will march through the small Prince William County suburb Saturday afternoon.
Fitzwater Drive will be closed between Nokesville and Aden Roads from 3 to 4:15 p.m. as the processional makes it's way through, Virginia Department of Transportation officials said.
Local traffic will be routed around the closure via Marsteller Drive to Aden Road.
Prince William County Police will be on hand to control traffic before, during and after the event, VDOT officials said.
The Nokesville Business Association is organizing the inaugural parade.
The parade will travel from Nokesville Elementary School, down Fitzwater Drive, to the Nokesville Church of the Brethren, the Bristow Beat reports.
They will be free hot dogs, chili and desserts at the church as well as an appearance by Santa Claus.
Families are encouraged to bring dry goods and canned food to donate to SERVE in Manassas.

I look forward to marching in Saturday's parade and shaking the hands of hundreds of our Nokesville neighbors!
