Fitness, wellness, and writing are my passions. So why not combine them?
It's been a long time coming for me - to truly know what I love - what is down deep in my inner core that excites me on a daily basis.
Last year, I embarked upon two journeys: becoming a certified personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and writing for a community paper, Manassas Patch.
I was living part of the dream when I started going out into the community gathering information for stories to write articles on things I love, like Old Town Manassas, and keeping up with my Fitness Column that I hoped the community would engage in.
When that writing stint ended I was a year in with Patch and four months postpartum. It was too hard to galavant out into the community with a notepad and all that flair I had before, with a fast-growing infant and a full-time job.
So, I continued my own personal blogging through blogger, documenting things like the growth of our son, family events, my husband's busy life in the Police Force and the Army, and other passions.
Life was good, but still busy.
I wanted more, and I still want more.
Now, I am writing for Patch on my own time and blogging about my personal passions. I have also started a business called Fit-Well with Shaklee, which is a natural nutrition company that has been around for over 50 years. We help people with their health, weight, skin, and so much more.
The name "Fit-Well" was chosen as a name for the business because it fits well in my life. Because I think Shaklee fits well in my life and can in the lives of others. And because my desire is for you to become fit and well.
That is primarily what this blog is about: not just Shaklee and the way it is changing lives, but about wellness and nutrition and fitness. Tips and deals and insights into being and becoming fit and well.
And hopefully through this, my visions will become clearer as I work at the journey toward living my dream: combining fitness training full-time, building my Shaklee business, and writing.
I love my community. I love people. And I want to help the people in the community I love become healthy.
May you be blessed with all that is shared here in this space.
