On Wed, July 4, 12 Noon to 4 PM, Prospero’s Books (9129 Center St, 703-257-7895) will host a Book Signing for local Old Town author and resident, B. N. Peacock, who has written the first of five naval historical novels, set in the French Revolution, in the style of C. S. Forester, Bernard Cornwell, and Patrick O’Brien.
Her book, “A Tainted Dawn”, follows history from three very different viewpoints: Edward, the English son of a naval officer and aristocratic mother; Jemmy, the English son of a poor carpenter turned smuggler; and Louis, the French son of a court tailor, a student turned revolutionary.
