Ride 2 Recovery Memorial Challenge
Event presented by UnitedHealthcare:
The public is invited to cheer on more than 200 injured veterans as they continue their five-day, 325-mile Ride 2 Recovery Memorial Challenge on Tuesday, May 29 from Manassas to Fredericksburg.
Ride 2 Recovery, a 501(c)3, helps injured veterans improve their health and wellness through individual and
group cycling. Cycling has proven to be a catalyst in the recovery process by providing a new physical challenge while concurrently helping to cope with mental challenges.
Veterans, troops and supporters will ride hand cycles, recumbents, tandems and traditional road bikes through
Virginia. The bicycle ride will begin Monday, May 28, at 9 a.m. at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington and end on Friday, June 1 in Virginia Beach.
The group of veterans were expected to stop at the Couryard Hotel in Prince William County on Memorial Day for lunch at 1:30 p.m.
The public is invited to cheer on the veterans as they depart from the Manassas-area hotel to Fredericksburg on the remainder of their ride at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 29.
