Local Churches Collecting Blankets for Syrian Civil War Refugees

Meetinghouses of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Centreville Virginia Stake (similar to a diocese), are collecting donations of new or gently used blankets for refugees of the Syrian civil war in Turkey. With winter approaching and hundreds of thousands of refugees suffering from cold, the humanitarian need for blankets is immense.

Donations of freshly laundered and folded blankets will be accepted at the following locations and times:

Chairman Scott York, Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, and Chairman Sharon Bulova, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, are helping spearhead the effort throughout Northern Virginia. York and Bulova recently visited Syrian refugee camps in Turkey and saw firsthand the tremendous need.
