Manassas to Host Neighborhood Conference
The 7th Annual City of Manassas Neighborhood Conference is being held on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College at 6901 Sudley Road.
This year, the conference will showcase how attendees can use local resources to “Bridge cultures, education and service in our neighborhoods.” The conference features free training to educate and empower residents at adult seminars and a youth café. There will be exhibitors, door prizes and free lunch for all participants.

The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Roger Ramsammy, provost of the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College. Attendees can select to attend any of three sessions throughout the day. These include: The New Civil Penalties; Trash and Renewable Energy 2.0; Housing 101; From Kid to College; Manassas City Public Schools; and Northern Virginia Community College At-a-glance. Walgreens will also be on hand with free flu shots for participants. The first 75 early bird registrants to arrive at the event will receive a free turkey.

During the conference, the Neighborhood Services Division will be giving out awards for the following: the best neighborhood youth involvement; the best neighborhood communication; the best neighborhood participation; and the best community service for the year.
