Crews Work Through Night to Repair Water Main Break

A water main break shut down lanes of northbound Sudley Road near Rixlew Lane for about two hours Wednesday afternoon.

Crews worked through the night Wednesday to repair a water main break that filled several areas of Sudley Road with water and blocked traffic for nearly two hours.

According to Joe Carney, media program manager for the Prince William County Service Authority, crews were sent to the scene around 4:15 pm Wednesday to access the damage and worked until 3 a.m. Thursday to repair the 14-inch water main break

Carney said the northbound lanes of Sudley Rd. were passable about an hour or two after the break occurred.
