Things to do and places to go this weekend.

This weekend, lots of good stuff is happening in Old Town and around the Manassas area.

Check out our list of things to do with the family, or just as a date for two.

  1. Visit the Dublin of Old Town
    Where/When: In Old Town Manassas on Center Street; Any time this weekend. Thursday, 11:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday 12 noon to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday 12 noon to 4:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Because it’s a perfect place to buy St. Patty’s Day gifts. From Irish and Scottish clothes to collectibles and jewelry you are sure to find the perfect gift here. They are also carrying special, select merchandise just for the holiday.

  2. Join the Irish All Day Celebration
    Where/When
    : City Square Café; Thursday, March 17, 2011; 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Enjoy exquisite holiday cuisines like traditional corned beef and cabbage with parsley potatoes for lunch or dinner. Plus, there will be an Irish pub bar and live music.
    Pricing: $16.99
  3. Friends Uniting Nokesville
    Where/When: Nokesville Volunteer Fire Department; Saturday, March 19, 2011; 8:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Meet new people and have some fun at the Nokesville Community Social Dance. Listen to the St. Thomcats perform a variety of swing, ballroom, and Latin dance music while you get your jive on.
    Pricing: $15 per person, $25 per couple.
  4.  Longaberger Basket Bingo Fundraiser
    Where/When: Victory Elementary School in Bristow, VA; Friday, March 18, 2011; doors open at 6:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Support Victory Elementary with their PTO Basket Bingo event. Enjoy a potluck dinner with friends while playing bingo. Adults only.
    Pricing: 250 tickets available. None listed.
  5.  Band$ 4 Buck$ Fundraiser for Breast Cancer
    Where/When: Old Town Sports Pub on Center Street; Saturday, March 19, 2011; 12:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Benefits go to Susan G. Komen for breast cancer. Bring the whole family out for music, trivia, food, and raffle prizes.
