Get Out: Hope for Japan Charity Concert

Ticket sale proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross to aid those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami tragedies in Japan.

  1. Soaring Eagle 5K and 1Mile Fun Walk
    Where/When: Osbourn High School; Saturday, May 28; 8:00 a.m.
    Why Go: To support Osbourn High School’s Athletic Boosters.
    Pricing: $18 for the 5k and $12 for the Walk until May 27. $25 for the 5k and $15 for the Walk on race day.

  2. Hope for Japan Charity Concert
    Where/When
    : Hylton Performing Arts Center; Monday, May 30; 6:30 p.m.
    Why Go: Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the American Red Cross to aid those affected by the recent earthquake and tsunami tragedies in Japan.
    Pricing: Orchestra and Parterre are $25; Kids 12 and under are $25

  3. Go to the pool!
    Where/When: Stonewall Pool; any time this weekend.
    Why Go: Because summer is upon us and it’s time to indulge!
    Pricing: Prices vary. See website for details.

  4. Grab a cup of coffee at Simply Sweet on Main and view a book signing by a local author.
    Where/When: Simply Sweet on Main; Monday, May 30; 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Support Gainesville author Kathleen Searles Ermimi as she debuts her book “Their Shadows Remain” this Memorial Day Weekend.
    Pricing: Free

  5. Join in the Roller Derby fun!
    Where/When: Skate n’ Fun Zone; Sunday, May 29; 4:30 p.m.
    Why Go: Watch the 'Bad Moon Rollers' take on the 'Blood on Wheels' live in the Roller Derby this weekend! There will be a raffle and an after party at Hard Times Café. Beer and wine will be offered.
    Pricing: Adults $10; Children under 12 are $5; Children under 3 are free.
