Why Go: Take the family on a trip to enjoy the rich history that Manassas brings from the Battles of Manassas. See model railroad displays and let the kids enjoy fun rides. Bands will be playing and cloggers will be clogging to provide entertainment for all.

Summer Evenings Under the Stars: The Washington Saxophone Quartet
Where/When: Mary Louise Jackson Amphitheater at NVCC; Saturday, June 4; 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Why Go: Relax and unwind on the lawn while listening to “this summer’s enchanting series” of performing arts by the Washington Saxophone Quartet at the Manassas NVCC campus. The lawn opens at 7:00 p.m.
Price: Free admission and parking.
1st Sunday Ballroom Dances’ at the Candy Factory
Where/When: Center for the Arts; Sunday, June 5; 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Why Go: If you feel like getting your dancing shoes on, this is the place for you. Featuring “Swing” as its first dance genre, the Center for the Arts is hosting a dance session on the first Sunday of each month starting this Sunday. Come early at 3:30 for a dance lesson.
Price: $15 per person for lesson and dance session; $10 for dance only. Pay at the door.
Where/When: PWC Landfill; Saturday, June 4; 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Why Go: If you’re looking for “good buys on lighting, appliances, cabinets, medical equipment and other building materials” this is a great place to find it. Plus, proceeds go to benefit the organization’s modification programs for the community.
Price: This is a charity and volunteer event. No entry cost listed.
Where/When: Hylton Performing Arts Center; June 3-4 at 8:00 p.m. and June 4-5 at 2:00 p.m.
Why Go: This is a fun little play about women in New York during the Great Depression. It proves to tell that they didn’t fall short back then of maintaining the modern day gossip status quo.
Price: $15 for adults; $12 senior/students; $8 kids, 11 and under
