Get Out: Wine, Swamp Stomp and Job Fair

Things to do and places to go this weekend.

This weekend, step out for a night of fine wine and dining or trail the swamps of Bull Run Regional Park. Need a job? Visit the Fairfax job fair. Patch has you covered with plenty to do.

  1. American Festival Pops Orchestra
    Where/When:  Hylton Performing Arts Center; Saturday, March 26, 2011; 8:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Hear the cheery orchestral sounds of American pop with performance favorites from television, movies, and Broadway.

  2. Legends and Lies Book Talk
    Where/When
    : Manassas Museum; Sunday, March 27, 2011; 2:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Chief Historian John Hennessy will be presenting a talk on Manassas: Legends and Lies. He will also be signing copies of his book “Return to Bull Run.”

  3. Looking for a job? Check out the Fairfax Mega Job Fair.
    Where/When: Government Center Parkway in Fairfax; Saturday, March 26, 2011; 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    Why Go: About 42 employers will be onsite offering positions in administration, engineering, military, human resources, project management, and much more. Plus, services will be provided for veteran assistance and guidance on small business initiation.

  4.  Bull Run Swamp Stomp
    Where/When: Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville; Saturday, March 26, 2011; 7:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Take the kids on a night hike to search for amphibian life in the wild of Centreville’s woods. Adults and children age six and older welcome!

  5. The Best of I-66 West
    Where/When: The Farm at Broad Run in Haymarket, VA; Saturday, March 26, 2011; 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    Why Go: Step out for an evening of great wine and gourmet food. Special debuts by three of Virginia’s finest winemakers Philip Carter, Pearmund Cellars, and Paradise Springs will be offering delicious pairings to go with The A la Carte Dinner Club’s decadent dishes. There will be dancing music provided too!  
    Pricing: Tickets are $125 each.
