Grab-and-Go Kids Planner: Exhibits, Farmer's Market and Book Sale

Monday, April 4, is a Teacher Work Day so schools will be closed. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the local libraries, parks and other area attractions.

  • Monday, April 4, is a Teacher Work Day so schools will be closed. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the libraries, parks, and Freedom Aquatic and Fitness center on a weekday with your family.
  • Stop by the Hylton Performing Arts Center and check out the Lorton Workhouse Photographers Exhibit. The exhibit is open every day until April 30.

  • Head over to the Central Community Library and pick up March’s monthly mind-bender contest form and complete it with the whole family. This month’s topic is “Dr. Seuss Puzzler.” You could win a new book if you submit your correct answers! The contest ends on March 31. A new contest will begin on April 1 featuring “Spring Crossword.”
  • Stop by the Hylton Performing Arts Center and check out the Hilde Vogel-Michalik Drawings and Paintings Exhibition beginning April 4. The exhibit is open every day until April 30.

  • The is back for the 2011 season! Check it out at Harris Pavilion on March 31 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and April 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Participate in the on March 31 starting at 12 p.m.
  • Check out the Lake Jackson Lions Flea Market on March 31, April 2, and April 5 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Attend the Friends of the Library Book Sale at on April 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Enjoy the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra’s performance of “Simply Sinatra” at the Hylton Performing Arts Center April 2 at 8 p.m.

  • Join author Calvin A. Ramsey at Bull Run Regional Library on April 3 at 2 p.m. for a discussion on his work and his book, Ruth and the Green Book.
  • Support the local middle and high school celebrities by attending a music or sporting event:
