Patch Picks: Bookstores – new and used.

  • Barnes & Noble – Grab a cup of coffee and a good book this weekend at Barnes & Noble.  They’ve got lots of cool things going on: NOOK Night, Storytime, and Marshall Elementary’s School Book Fair.
  • Prospero’s Books – Located on Center Street in Old Town this used bookstore’s focus is on selling military history, Americana, and hardback fiction books. They also have antique maps and prints.
  • Family Christian Stores – Into Christian fiction books, music, or inspirational reads? Check out Family Christian Stores located right off of Sudley Road. Right now, if you “like” them on Facebook, you can get 10 free songs to download featuring artists like Phillips, Craig & Dean and Sara Groves.
  • Borders – This is another great bookstore to check out. It sits right next to Regal Cinemas on Bulloch Drive. If you’re waiting for a movie to start, grab a cup of coffee and read a magazine at Borders. Plus, this weekend they’re celebrating Elmo’s third birthday with music and crafts. Check it out!
  • McKay Used Books – If you’re in the market to sell or trade used books, DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, or video games this is the place to go. Not into trading? You can also buy used items like books or a season of your favorite sitcom on DVD you’ve been dying to watch again.
