Working on the Railroad: Crews Replacing Railroad Ties this Month in Manassas

Norfolk Southern, the owner of the railroad tracks that crisscross Manassas, is replacing railroad ties (crossties) near several railroad crossings this month.

The City of Manassas has provided locations where crews will be working:

July 12 - Wakeman Drive
July 13 - Godwin Drive near Brick Plant
July 14 - Fairview Avenue
July 15 - Battle Street
July 16 - West Street

Crews worked near the historic Manassas Train Depot Thursday. Check out video of the progress they made.

Track work will also be carried out on Friday in Manassas Park. As a result the railroad crossing on the city's main thoroughfare will be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
