Chanticleer’s elegant Christmas concert is a longstanding hallmark of the holiday season in concert halls across the nation, and this year it comes to the Hylton Center. This enchanting concert features traditional Christmas carols, revered sacred works, and joyful holiday favorites. “No one does a better choral Christmas than the virtuoso male voices of Chanticleer,” according to the New Yorker, and we couldn’t agree more. This renowned ensemble from San Francisco has delighted audiences—and wowed critics—around the globe for more than 30 years. Celebrated for their flawless technique, rapturous melodies, and original interpretations, these twelve a cappella voices have mastered a vocal literature that spans ten centuries, and includes everything from Gregorian chant and Renaissance music to jazz, gospel and contemporary music. “Remarkable elegance and fluidity…the ensemble explores a melting pot of styles.” (The New York Times)

We just returned home after the concert and dinner in Old Town. Chanticleer was fabulous; those voices are ethereal. That was the best choral concert I have ever attended.
