Manassas merchants are participating in two separate sidewalk sales this weekend. The event will also coincide with Old Town's annual Spring Cleaning Day.
, is having a sidewalk sale this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22, during regular store hours.
Old Town Manassas merchants are also holding their annual sidewalk sale along Center Street on Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most of the shops will have sale merchandise out on the sidewalks, said Owner of and President of the Old Town Business Association (OTBA) Joanne Wunderly.
"The Things I Love will have tables on the front sidewalk as well as in the back courtyard," Wunderly said. "It will all be 50 percent off."
Old Town Manassas is also hosting the Fifth Annual Spring Cleaning Day on Saturday, April 21 at the in honor of Earth Day.
Visitors to Old Town on Saturday will also be able to participate in a recycling event, kids' activities, and document shredding. Earth Day exhibits will be set up at the Harris Pavilion from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"It's that time of year to let the fresh air in and clean those closets out," reads the event listing on Historic Manassas, Inc.'s website.
Visitors will be able to donate gently-used household items or clothes to a worthy cause, visit with the recycling and environmental exhibitors, and help the kids make earth friendly art projects.
The day includes exhibitors from non-profit and civic organizations providing recycling and environmental information.
The community will also be able to bring documents to be safely disposed of by the shred-it truck made available by Safeguard Shredding Company from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., during the spring cleaning day event.
