Two Manassas men were  that wounded 19-year-old John Jackson II so badly that he later died of his injuries in the hospital. Justin Lee Finley, of Gainesville, and Stephon Damont Greene, of Manassas, were both apprehended in New Jersey on May 30 and are awaiting extradition back to Virginia where they are facing charges of alleged gang participation, aggravated malicious wounding and assault by mob.

Manassas Park's low credit rating  from CalFirst Bank that would have funded the lease-purchase of new school buses. School administrators had to negotiate a last-minute agreement with Alliance Bank instead.
