UPDATED: Bomb Threat Closes Courthouse, Surrounding Roadways

Southbound Rte. 28, courthouse reopened after bomb threat cleared by police.

Prince William County authorities said a bomb threat at the county courthouse in Manassas has been cleared. Area roadways have reopened, including Route 28 between Peabody Street and Stonewall Road. 

Captain Tony Overstreet with the the Prince William County Sheriff's Office confirmed the courthouse was reopened around 2 p.m. Monday. He said the threat was called into the Prince William County Police department.

Prince William County Police public information officer Jonathan Perok confirmed Monday that local law enforcement agencies are investigating a bomb threat at the county courthouse located in Manassas.

The courthouse and surrounding roads, including southboud Route 28 at Peabody Street, are closed until further notice. The courthouse was evacuated.
