Wichita Court Fire in Manassas Under Investigation

Prince William County firefighters continue to investigate a blaze that broke out in an Manassas area bedroom on Tuesday.

Firefighters responded to a multi-family dwelling on the 7300 block of Wichita Court around 6 p.m.

No one was in the bedroom at the time of the fire which was contained by water from an activated sprinkler head.

No injuries were reported, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Fire officials say smoke alarms and fire-sprinkler systems increase the chances of human survival by 82 percent.
 Sprinklers reduce property loss by 95 percent and 90 percent of fires are contained by the operation of just one sprinkler, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.
