Governor Election Results: Largest Manassas Precinct Goes With Cuccinelli

Most of Manassas City voted for winner Terry McAuliffe.

The City of Manassas as a whole voted with the state of Virginia on Tuesday in electing Democrat Terry McAuliffe the next governor of the Commonwealth. 

McAuliffe got 48 percent of the 8,221 votes in Manassas City on Tuesday while his opponent Republican Ken Cuccinelli received 46 percent. 

McAuliffe carried all of Manassas City's precincts except one—the largest—Dean. The majority of the votes there were for Cuccinelli, according to the Virginia State Board of Elections website. 

Cuccinelli received 1,008 votes to McAuliffe's 907. Liberian candidate Robert Sarvis received 100 of the Dean votes. 

Cuccinelli also received most of the absentee votes, 49 percent to McAuliffle's 46 percent. A total of 428 absent ballots were received in Manassas City.
