Red Hot & Blue Heats Up for Adventure Bound Blues Concert

MANASSAS, VA – On Saturday, July 26, Verdun Adventure Bound, with the Fredericksburg Blues Society, will host the "Red Hot & BLUES" Music Concert on the new Anne Marie Sheridan Amphitheater Stage outdoor theater nestled in the woods in Rixeyville, VA. 

Milton Hernandez, the Red Hot & Blue restaurant manager in Manassas, VA., announced that the restaurant has partnered with the event and 10% of all sales on-site at the event will be donated to the Verdun adventure Bound program. Red Hot & Blue will be selling Red Hot & Blue hickory-smoked pulled pork and pulled chicken BBQ Sandwiches, Veggie Wraps, Grandma’s famous Potato Salad, BBQ Baked Beans and Cole Slaw. Red Hot & Blue Restaurants were founded in 1988, through a love for legendary and contemporary Blues music and authentic Memphis-style, slow-hickory-smoked Barbeque. Activities at the event – all included in the price of a general admission ticket include:
• Thirty-minute workshops for harmonica, guitar and drums from 10am until 12pm
• Tour of the Verdun Adventure Bound facility via a fun hayride
• Opportunities to master the Verdun Climbing Wall under the supervision of staff
• Multiple vendors will be on site with goods, food and drink available for purchase
• Hours of great BLUES music performances starting at 1pm
The opening act is Dear John Blues Band.  The Dear John Blues Band will play for an hour and will be followed by local musicians, Gaye Adegbalola and the WildRutz.  The Blues Buckets will perform from approximately 3 to 5pm leading up to the headliner, Blues great, Jarekus Singleton. Jarekus is releasing a CD in July through Alligator Records.

Tickets are available online at www.verdunadventurebound.org. and at the gate.  Fredericksburg Blues Society members and military personnel tickets are $25 per person; all others are $30 per person.  Guests are invited to bring a blanket and/or lawn chairs.  Alcohol or firearms are not permitted.
