Charity Golf Tournament Planned in Honor of Councilman's Late Son

An annual charity golf tournament held in honor of the late son of two well-known Manassas residents is planned for Monday in Haymarket. 

The 6th Annual Colin J. Wolfe Memorial Golf Tournament will support the Manassas Ballet Theatre's educational outreach efforts to schools in Prince William County and Fauquier County and the city of Manassas. 

The tournament begins at 10:30 a.m. with registration at the Evergreen Country Club, followed by lunch and 18 holes of competitive and fun golf.  The day ends with dinner and an awards ceremony.

Registration is $150 per person or $600 per four-person group. Register for the event using the packet under events at manassasballet.org.  

The tournament is named for the son of Manassas City Councilman Mark Wolfe and Amy Grant Wolfe, the Manassas Ballet Theatre's artistic director.

Colin was dancer in his youth and was later moved to enlist in the U.S Marine Corps afterthe Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.  

Colin was deployed to Iraq in 2006 and died seven weeks later after being hit by a roadside bomb.
