Tree City USA Designation for Manassas

City honored by Arbor Day Foundation for 23rd year.

The Arbor Day Foundation has again honored the City of Manassas with a Tree City USA designation because of the city's commitment to effective urban forest management, according to a release.

“The City is honored to be a Tree City USA,” said City Manager John A. Budesky.  “In becoming a Tree City, the City of Manassas benefits with cleaner air, improved storm water management and energy savings, which helps to increase our property values and commercial activity.”

The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters. For more information on the program, visit arborday.org/TreeCityUSA.
