Santa Train Tickets Sell Out in Under 30 Minutes

VRE may have a stash of overstock tickets for sale.

Tickets for the wildly popular Virginia Railway Express Santa Train event on Dec. 14 sold out online in less than 30 minutes on Monday morning.

Online sales opened at 9 a.m. and VRE officials announced via email the tickets were all gone at 9:27 a.m.

The Manassas VRE Depot, the home of the Manassas Visitor Center didn't run out of tickets quite so fast. It wasn't until 11 a.m. the visitor center announced on its Facebook page that it had sold out of tickets

After Santa Train tickets sold out in 2012, VRE announced the sale of overstock tickets.
It is not clear if the rail service plans to do the same this year.

The event is purposed to help promote train safety and the VRE Operation Lifesaver's, "Look, Listen and Live" Campaign. Proceeds from the event go to Operation Lifesaver.

Operation Lifesaver is held in conjunction with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.
