Spring Housing Event for Homeowners

Homeowners will be able to meet directly with a representative from their bank to learn more about various programs that can help them with concerns regarding their mortgage.

Manassas is holding its second annual housing fair this weekend.

The 2012 Spring Housing Event is happening May 19 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Osbourn High School. 

The purpose of the event is to provide the opportunity for homeowners to meet directly with a representative from their bank , according to information about the event posted on the city's website.

"Whether your mortgage is behind, you are concerned that you can no longer pay your mortgage, or you have questions about the current value of your house, representatives from the following bank will be available and ready to meet with you to answer any questions you may have," reads the post. 

Attending homeowners  will also have access to certified housing counselors, as well as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Help Centers.

There will be something for landlords and tenants, too. “A Comparison of the Virginia Residential Landlord Tenant Act to Common Law Landlord Law” seminar will be presented by James Scruggs, Managing Attorney at Legal Services of Northern Virginia, and the “Fair Housing Training For Landlords and Tenants” seminar will be presented by Steven M. Paikin, Director of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
