New Vendors This Week
Cows-N-Corn will bring the Best of Prince William to our market — some great made-on-the-farm ice cream. This ice cream is made with milk from their Holstein cows, and many of your children will have taken a school field trip to their farm.
Vendors Absent This Week
Blue Dog BBQ will not be with us; they are celebrating little Tyler’s first birthday and have lots of family coming in for the weekend. But Uncle Fred has offered to fill the void and maybe preach a little sermon, too.
Our newest vendor, Number One Sons, had a great first day last week. They will not attend this week because Phillip is taking a short vacation. They will be back next week.
Shelby of Cakes by Shelby will be away for the month of August and hopes to return to temperatures that will permit the sale of cake pops once again.
Betty’s Chips and Salsas is leaving the market, but we are talking to a possible replacement.
On the Way In and Out
The first good eating apples of the season are in — the Ginger Golds at Tyson’s. And while I prefer to use a mix of apples in my Healthy Homemade Applesauce, if you want to get a head start on mini-containers for the school lunches, the Ginger Gold is a good apple to use by itself in the recipe. New corn varieties are also arriving at Jose Montoya’s.
Special Events This Week
We will be letting you know about our month-long effort to win the Best Farmers’ Market in the USA — and Virginia — contests. Smart Markets Bristow has been nominated to compete in the voting, and we will begin to hand out information about how you can vote for your very own market. For the next four Sundays, we will highlight what makes us special and hand out free gifts, too!
