An Oval Altar for the Oval Office

We recognize that America is in a desperate place, but not without hope.

God Bless America.  May the entire gathering on the Ellipse this fall get caught in the cross-fire of the blessing!

America has elected our President for the next four years. Prior to the election, we gathered on the White House Ellipse and continuously enthroned Jesus with our praises 24 hours a day for over 40 days from September 25th through November 6th 2012. We sought and received worship teams from all 50 states to gather and lead prayer from an Oval Altar near the Oval Office. We worshiped 24/7/40 from a stage on the White House Ellipse!

If ever America needed a Savior, it is now. America's lamp stand in the nations is at risk of being removed. Many have concluded the obvious already that no man elected to the Presidency can save America. We need Jesus. We need the power of His Presence and Spirit of Revelation in the White House, Washington DC and in all America.

We recognize that America is in a desperate place, but not without hope. We believe God has called us as a nation to "circle the wagons" by the White House and build an altar of worship to offer as intercession for America.

“My heart's prayer is that one day, America will have a "congress of worship and prayer" assembled in Washington, DC, whose light will never go out, day or night, 24/7/365.  Mark my words, the day that happens everything changes for America, because that day we will have shown the Lord that, as a nation, we have made Him our top priority.  He should be given our most valuable space! - Jason Hershey

David's Tent consisted of 41 days, nearly 1,000 hours of continuous 24-7 worship from September 25th through Election Day to the morning of November 7th!  During this period, 166 Prayer Teams from across the U.S. and abroad participated in David's Tent!  David's Tent consisted of 497 two hour sets of worship!

All 50 states were represented at the tent during the 41 days as well as dozens of nations! The generations, young and old and entire families came from far and near to enthrone the King of Kings by the palace!

David's Tent was a gathering place where many denominations and expressions of the body of Christ came together on the Ellipse (the backyard) of the White House just to praise Him for the simple fact that He is worthy!  There were all kinds of styles and sounds of worship from loud, soft, quiet, contemporary, hymns, modern, punk, even a drum circle, you name it!

The worship covered everything from celebration, thanksgiving, adoration, warfare, proclamation and declaration.

We were witnessing Psalm 118:15, "Glad songs of Salvation are in the tents of the righteous" and Psalm 27:6, "...and now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me, and I will offer in His tent shouts of joy; I will sing and make melody to the Lord."

Psalm 22:3 says, "the Lord is enthroned on the praises of His people".  Jesus truly was enthroned on the praises of His people on the land of the highest governmental office of our Nation day and night continuously for 41 days for no other reason than He is worthy!!

We can only imagine how His heart must have been stirred and moved by this lavish act and sacrifice of love poured out at His feet!  You can go to www.davidstentdc.org to enjoy archived worship sets and video testimonies of some of what God did at and through David's Tent.

Taste and see that the Lord is good.  Let us magnify the Lord together and continue to cry out with a heart of repentance for revival and transformation for our region and nation.

In our nation’s Capital, Our Fathers stood in the Gap.

Their children answered the call.

In the fall of 2012, from Sept 25 to Nov 6 the Whole Family gathered on the White House Ellipse.

And We Praised Him 24 hours a day

7 days a week for 40 days.

Will you join us in 2013?

"For from the rising of the sun to its setting my name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering. For my name will be great among the nations, says the LORD of hosts" - Malachi 1:11.

About David’s Tent DC

The name “David’s Tent DC” has a double meaning. First, the restoration of the fallen Tent of David (Amos 9:11) meant that a descendent of David would once again be on the throne!  This is fulfilled in Jesus! David’s Tent DC is a national confession that Jesus is Lord of America and we receive Him as such.  We know it’s significant that God has made a way to build this altar of worship right beside the highest Executive office in our land!

Secondly, “David’s Tent DC” refers to the tent King David had erected to host the Ark of the Covenant.  He hired over 4000 musicians and singers to minister to the Lord 24/7 for the length of his reign.  This tent was in Jerusalem, his Capital City! It brought blessing on the whole nation!
