Carl Gene Braley, 68

CARL GENE BRALEY, 68, of Manassas, Virginia passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Virginia Hospital Center.

He was born on December 27, 1945 in Kanawha, West Virginia the son of the late Cullie A. “Bus” and Gertie (Wilson) Braley. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the American Legion in Manassas, VA. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Elkwood, WVA and attended the Yorkshire Freewill Baptist Church in Manassas, VA. He is preceded in death by a brother, Danny Braley.

Survivors include his loving wife, Joy Braley; three children, Mark L. Brooks and wife Maria of Manassas, VA, Rhonda Braley Campbell and husband Ken of Charleston, WVA, Cindy Pleytez and husband Eddy of Haymarket, VA; three sisters, Alma Lou Dodd and husband Thayer of Frame, WVA, Sue Taylor and husband Claire of Spencer, WVA, Nancy Staton of Cumberland, VA; two brothers, Charles Braley and wife Betty of Charleston, WVA and Arnold “Jr” Braley and wife Joan of Fairfax, VA; three grandchildren, Kayla Brooks, Mara Brooks and Ava Pleytez.

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA with Pastor Todd Tennant officiating.
