Margaret Benjamin, 89

Margaret E. Benjamin, 89, of Manassas, VA and formerly Silver Spring, MD, died peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer at the age of 89. 

A devoted family matriarch with many good friends, Mrs. Benjamin was a diligent attendee and committee member of Silver Spring Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Alliance High School in 1942 and Mount Union College in 1946. 

A longtime member of the Omega Supper Group, she loved to play bridge and attend the round house theatre. She retired from Dow Jones and enjoyed gardening, book club and many church activities throughout her life.

Mrs. Benjamin's death was preceded by husband Chester R. Benjamin, her brothers Charles W. Hart and John A. Hart and her sister Florence Genevieve Hart. She is survived by her daughter Karen S. Paris, her grandson Clifford David Paris, Jr. and her brother James Elliott Hart. Her family and many friends adore her and will miss her; her companionship, her intellect and her honest and comforting smile.

The family will receive callers on April 15, 2014 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 221912.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Silver Spring Presbyterian Church, 580 University Boulevard East, Silver Spring, MD 20901.
