MARY BETH HANFORD, 62, of Manassas, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at her residence after her long battle with cancer. Her strength and determination were an inspiration to all that knew her.
She was born on May 26, 1951 in Germany the daughter of the late William E. and Dorothy (Wilson) Lahr. She was an Executive Assistant for General Dynamics and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas.
Survivors include her loving husband, Chester D. “Chet” Hanford; two sons, Shon T. Hanford and wife Sarah of Parkville, MD, Troy D. Hanford and wife Brooke of Stafford, VA; three sisters, Sandy Crawford of Ellicott, MD, Janice Angliss of Sea Cliff, NY, Diane Lahr of Manassas, VA; one brother, Michael Lahr of Manassas, VA; three grandchildren, Kayla Lawrence, Kayden Hanford and Dean TenBroeck.
The family will receive friends 6:00pm – 8:00pm Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Thursday, May 8, 2014 at All Saints Catholic Church, 9300 Stonewall Road, Manassas, VA. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
