Robert Henry Collins, 81, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on December 9, 1932 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania the son of the late Joseph A. and Elsie (Moyle) Collins. He was a retired engineer for IBM. He had a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Scranton.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Eileen D. Collins; five children, Robert Collins and wife Elizabeth, Patricia Weedon and husband Jack, Maribeth Leonard and husband Brian, Kathleen Purtell and husband Jim, SueAnn Coen and husband Bob; eleven grandchildren, Stefanie Maxfield, Siobhan Collins, Gregory Leonard, Nick Weedon, Courtney Purtell, Alexis Weedon, Jamie Purtell, Meghan Coen, Nicole Purtell, Riley Coen, and Jackson Coen.
The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00pm Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, Virginia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Monday, May 5, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8213 Linton Hall Road, Gainesville, Virginia.
