Roy Alan Madill, 66

Roy Alan Madill, age 66, of Mathias, West Virginia, formerly of Woodbridge Virginia, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville. 
Mr. Madill was born November 30, 1947 in Manassas, Virginia, son of the late Paul Gray Madill, Sr. and Janie Mauck Madill. He was also predeceased by a brother, Paul Gray Madill, Jr. 

He was a member of VFW Lost River Valley Post 7780 in Mathias, WV, having served in the United States Army for 2 years, including a tour of duty in Vietnam and honorably discharged in 1970. . He was retired from a career with the United States Postal Service. Roy loved spending time with his family, hunting, NASCAR and the Washington Redskins. Roy was a deeply caring person who constantly helped anyone in need. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and comical quips even in times when he was not feeling well. 

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Jackie, his daughter, Kimberly Sowers and his granddaughter, Brittany of Catlett, Virginia, his son, Robert Paul (Bobby) Madill of Manassas Park, Virginia; a brother, Ed Madill of New Kent, Virginia, a sister, Sharon Bishop, of Nokesville, Virginia and his step children, Eddy Smith and Amy Jo Pauline and their families. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00am-11:00am on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Nokesville Church of the Brethren, 13002 Fitzwater Drive, Nokesville, Virginia prior to the funeral service at 11:00am with Pastor Mandy North officiating. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributionsto be used toward the family's expenses may be made in his name to the Nokesville Church of the Brethren.
