Ruth A. Grimes, 89

Ruth A. Grimes, 89, formerly of Manassas, passed away May 9, 2014 at The Bridge Nursing Home, Rockwood, TN.

Born July 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Virginia Carter Dawson. Ruth was married to William Grimes, who preceded her in death in 1991.

She was a longtime member and attendee of the Soul’s Harbor Church of God in Manassas.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Mark Grimes. Survivors include two daughters, Clara Jessee of Manassas; Ruth Ann Brooks also of Manassas; one son, Steve Grimes and his wife Diana of Crossville, TN; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 15, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Baker-Post Funeral Home, Lee Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor D. Tony Willis officiating.

Private interment will take place in the Fairfax City Cemetery.
