5-Year-Old Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Yorkshire

Prince William County Police are still searching for the driver of the van. The boy is expected to recover from his injuries.

A 5-year-old boy is recovering in a local hospital after he was struck by a van on Tuesday, Prince William County Police reports show.

Investigators arrived on the 8200 block of Rainwater Circle in Manassas at 6:43 p.m. where the small child was hit.

Witnesses said the boy had just been taken out of a car by his mother when he noticed another family member across the street and ran to greet them.
The boy ran into the path of a van, which struck him before leaving the area without stopping.

The victim was flown to an area hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.
The driver of the van was not seen by the victim or any witnesses, police said.
The vehicle is described as a white Ford E350 series commercial style van with a sliding door on the passenger side, a dent on the front left bumper and a ladder rack on top.
