7 Displaced in Yorkshire Townhouse Fire
Fire department estimates $15,000 in damage to the house from the fire.
Five adults and two children were displaced from a Yorkshire townhouse Monday after a fire broke out in a kitchen.
Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue officials said Tuesday that a neighbor called 911 to report the blaze in a three-story townhouse in the 8100 block of Cobble Pond Way. No one was in the house at the time of the fire, officials said.
According to the fire department, the fire started on the second floor in the kitchen area and was quickly extinguished by firefighters. No injuries were reported.

Prince William County police assisted with scene management, fire authorities said.
Fire officials said in a release Tuesday that the preliminary damage estimate is $15,000.

A representative from the building official’s office assessed the fire-damaged structure Monday and posted it unsafe to occupy.
The cause of the fire was classified as undetermined and remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
